Jacques Perconte: Digital Landscapes: 10/11 June 2022

This two-day programme presents the work of Jacques Perconte, a visual artist and a major figure in the French digital art and avant-garde-scene.

The Self-Representation in Visual Culture research group presents a double-bill of films that experiment with the re-staging of self-portraits as a form of mise en abyme.

The Notebook films’ screening and presentation: 16 January 2015, Birkbeck University, London.

In preparation for the inaugural Essay Film Festival 2015 (BIMI, Birkbeck College London), this was a session that featured several examples of “notebook” films:

The Self-Portrait in the Moving Image’: two-day conference 28/02-1/03 2014, Birkbeck University, London.

This conference proposed to reassess the practice of self-portraiture in the moving image by showcasing and discussing a broad variety of films. It was an opportunity to discover some rarely screened experimental films from the Lightcone collection (Paris), which were projected in 16mm and Super 8.
